Jerusalem Central Post Office
Jerusalem's Central Post Office Institutional and representational, this building was dedicated in 1938. It was erected by the Public Works Department of the British mandate government according to design by chief architect Austen S.B. Harrison. The modern facade is symmetrical and unornamented, with the exception of alternating rows of black basalt and light local stone.
The basalt stone was brought to Jerusalem from the Golan Heights. Abraham Ofek decorated the southern wing of the reception hall with gigantic Murals.
